10 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II This is a service designed for all ages and includes a variety of contemporary and traditional music. During the first half of the service, children ages 3 through the sixth grade have the opportunity to go to Children's Chapel or Sunday School, or they are welcome to stay with their parents. Nursery care is provided for younger children. "Holy Eucharist" refers to the sacrament also known as Holy Communion or, in the Roman Catholic tradition, the Mass. All baptized Christians will be invited to come forward to the altar to receive the bread and wine. Those not yet Baptized, or those who simply prefer not to receiv the bread and wine are invited to come forward for a blessing. "Rite II" refers to our version of the service that uses more contemporary language. This service typically lasts 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. |
